About Me

Why food
is love to me

Background

My Story

My grandmother was a delightful cook. I remember the excitement I felt when we went over to her place on Sundays to indulge in her creations. I could taste the love in every bite.

Eating my mother's food was a little different. Her main effort was to raise us as healthy as possible. When I started to cook, I was influenced by both of these women.

I always felt comfortable in kitchens, so working in them while studying made perfect sense. After becoming a trained chef I felt the need to know more – so studying Nutrition Pedagogy at PHT Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol, Innsbruck was my next step. With great curiosity and persistence I quizzed my professors: I wanted to verify if all the things said about healthy eating were true and had any scientific basis.

But I was missing important factors. The individuality. The joy. The autonomy. There was a huge gap between what was defined as healthy and what people could actually take into their daily lives.

Only by getting to know this gentle way of eating, trying it out for myself and ultimately studying it and getting certified as an IE Counselor, could I find the missing link: my body – and yours – is a source of great wisdom. By learning to listen to it, I found the tool for a peaceful, joyful relationship with food.

My grandma would love that!
